BAD Customer Care
Reviewed by Ann, 2007-05-23 I live in rural Alaska and bought a new Mercury Mountaineer 2 months ago. I was driving down the road today and the car would not shift (automatic)but bogged down. I pulled over and checked the brakes and computer checkup. All said fine, I went 3 blocks at 10mph and the car barely made it into my drive. I stopped and the brakes on both front wheels were on fire. We put the fires out and called Seekins. They would not give us a loaner car but sent a tow truck 260 miles to pick our NEW vehicle up.
When we first bought the car it needed a new baffle and they said if we spent the night in Fairbanks they would fix this the next day. We stayed and paid for a room to find the next day, they had to order the part. We went home and had to return when the part came in and spend the night again. We told them that the computer system is inaccurate because on a full tank, it says 126 miles until empty (and other computer inaccuracies)The salesman said it needs to be filled and reset. That did not work.
Now we have to wait who knows how long without a car when we just purchased a NEW one. They do not care about customer satisfaction once they get the sale. I have heard this many times but who would think a new car would have issues. I have dealt with used car dealerships that will go out of their way and give loaners but not Seekins, no way. I will tell everyone I know not to buy there!
